Fairy Tail Creator: Hiro Mashima

Hiro Mashima was born May 3rd 1977. As a Japanese manga artist he is most known for his Rave manga series which was published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1999 to 2005. The Rave manga series was later on adapted into an anime series. However the anime adaptation was cancelled before it was finished.

During the 1999 to 2005 period, Rave wasn’t the only thing that Hiro Mashima was working on, as in 2003 he collected some of his one-shot chapters and released them in two volumes entitled “Mashima-en Vol.1 & 2. Those stories include, among others, Cocona, “Xmaz Hearts” and of course the prototype for his now hit series “Fairy Tail”.

In 2006, Mashima began working on his current ongoing fantasy manga entitled “Fairy Tail”, serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. He also published the one-shot manga “Monster Soul” during the same year.

Later on, in 2008 Mashima would attend the 2008 San Diego Comic Convention as a notable guest.
